Hi! I'm Christina, and welcome to my yoga YouTube channel, ChriskaYoga! This is a short tutorial video for how to do a yoga handstand for beginners at the wall (L shaped handstand). It's a great handstand for people who are afraid of being upside down because the bottom of your feet are planted into the wall as well. It's like an inverted downward facing dog. As always, please work with caution.

Sit on the ground facing the wall with your legs straight and place the bottoms of your flexed feet flat on the wall. Place a yoga block or other marker on the ground next to your hips to indicate how far from the wall your hands should go. Come into downward facing dog (adho mukha svanasana) away from the wall, place your heels on the wall and your hands flat on the floor shoulders distance apart in line with where your marker is.

Press into the ground with your hands and begin to walk your feet up the wall until your hips are right above your shoulders. You can look down in between your hands on the floor or at the wall (keeping your head in line with the rest of your spine).

To come down, gently walk your feet down the wall and rest in a child's pose (balasana).
