CGI VFX Breakdown: Walking Dead Season 7 Sandpile Breakdown by Pixomondo.

Our crew did the sand pile shot in Houdini 15.5.
The main challenge was to create a photoreal collapsing sand pile in direction to the camera and in real world scale.
To achieve that, Pixomondo developed an adaptive grain simulation in Houdini that was base simulated and depended on the guided camera distance.
